Our partnership library, run by Kisharon Langdon and Barnet Libraries, is a fantastic resource for the whole community and a hub of activity with weekly school visits, reading groups, toddler classes, IT courses and a Conversation Café for people whose first language is not English.

With hundreds of visitors every week, the library offers a range of volunteer placements for the people we support, who take responsibility for receiving and logging new books, shelving returned books, assisting visitors, and managing databases. We also have volunteers who read to children during school visits.

A helping hand

The library offers a Support Hub for people in the local community who are struggling, especially in the winter months. During their visits, they receive a warm welcome from our Kisharon Langdon volunteers, who offer them hot drinks, reading material, and packs of warm clothing prepared by people we support during our Learning & Development programmes.

Green hands

Thanks to a previous grant from the Barnet Innovation Fund, the library garden was redeveloped into a welcoming and accessible garden space. From there, we run a weekly community gardening project for individuals with learning disabilities, led by an experienced horticulturalist and supported by volunteers from the local community.

We are very grateful to The Finnis Scott Foundation, which provides additional funding to help develop our gardening offer.
